A lovely set of unique knitting stitch markers/progress keepers. Knit by the light of the sun, dream by the light of the moon. This fabulous set of tools is an ideal gift for a knitter.
This listing is for a set of five stitch markers:
The Sun in splendour, a fabulous charm, beaming with light and warmth.
Two star charms, double-sided, etched with the crescent moon and stars.
A silvery star charm, with a tiny opalite star bead and two glittering iridescent seed beads.
A stack of light grey moonstone chips, these have a lovely glow reminiscent of moonlight.
You will receive five knitting stitch markers as shown and described above; the charms are made from zinc alloy and are free of nickel, cadmium and lead; the rings are made from silver-plated copper wire. Each ring is soldered closed so that the ring will not snag on your knitting whilst you are using it. The solder used is low temperature lead free silver solder.
The large ring measures 8mm across, and is suitable for use on knitting needles up to 6mm (US size 10, UK Imperial size 4). As a lace knitter myself, I have found this size to be the most comfortable to use, and the charms provide a little weight and interest to the knitting process.
Many commercially produced stitch markers use jump rings made from wire that is too thin and quickly becomes misshapen; I make my stitch markers from 1mm wire that maintains its shape in use. Many stitch markers are not soldered closed, so that the yarn is easily snagged; my stitch markers are soldered so that there is no gap in the ring to snag your yarn.
The charms used for these markers are a mixture of double-sided and single-sided.
