This is a simple circular shawl, based on Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Pi Shawl principle, and using traditional Shetland lace motifs. The lace portions of the design are charted only.
I knitted the original shawl in Debbie Bliss Fine Donegal yarn in a pretty shade of raspberry pink, hence the name of the shawl! The last section, before the knitted-on lace edging, can be expanded to increase the diameter, if you want a larger shawl.
The shawl is knit in the round, with a knitted-on edge, and is approximately 145 cm in diameter (57”).

This pattern can be knit in any fingering/4ply weight yarn, as long as it gives good stitch definition, even tweedy yarns look good, as in the sample shown. As always, when substituting yarn, be sure to knit a swatch to check that you are able to get the right gauge for the pattern. Suggested yarn substitutes can be found at https://yarnsub.com/
