Enhance your crochet process, and keep track of your pattern repeats, with this lovely blue banded agate stitch marker. Two agate beads form each pendant, a 6mm bead sits atop an 8mm bead, and the two are separated by a silver plated spacer bead. The colours range from a blue-green to almost midnight blue, and each bead is enhanced by the characteristic banding of pale blue. No two beads are alike and so each marker will be unique.
You will receive a travelling stitch marker as shown; the beads are suspended on a silver plated pin which is free of nickel, cadmium and lead; the marker has a lobster clasp instead of the soldered marker ring. The small jump ring is made from silver-plated copper wire soldered closed with lead-free solder. The lobster clasp is silver plated.
A travelling or locking stitch marker is used in knitting patterns where the marker needs to be moved even though the knitter has not reached the marker in order to be able to slip it. They can also be used to clip to the knitted fabric to indicate, for instance, the right side of the fabric, and they are invaluable in crochet for marking the beginning of a round.
The lobster clasp is approximately 5mm in diameter and has an opening size of 2.5mm; it is therefore only suitable for use as a knitting travelling stitch marker on needles of 2.5mm or smaller, although as a clip-on marker for crochet it can be used on any size of yarn.
When new, you may find that the lobster clasp is a little stiff, but will loosen up with use.
