A beautiful set of stitch markers, each marker is made from four polished chips of Amethyst. Since each chip is slightly different, each marker, and the set as a whole, is unique. The photographs do not do these markers justice; they are a rich gleaming mauve. Amethyst is the birthstone for February, and these would make a lovely birthday gift for a knitter or crocheter.
Add jewellery to your knitting or crochet and enhance your crafting process with this set of gemstone stitch markers.
This listing is for a set of five knitting or crochet stitch markers; all have randomly selected gemstone chips so differ slightly in size. Please select the type of marker required from the drop down list.
You will receive the stitch marker set similar to the set shown; the gemstone chips are new. Each marker, from the top of the marker ring/lobster clasp to the base of the charm, is approximately 3cm ( 1.25 inches). The rings are made from silver-plated copper wire. Each ring is soldered closed so that the ring will not snag on your knitting whilst you are using it. The solder used is low temperature lead free silver solder.
The large ring measures 8mm across, and is suitable for use on knitting needles up to 6mm (US size 10, UK Imperial size 4). As a lace knitter myself, I have found this size to be the most comfortable to use, and the charms provide a little weight and interest to the knitting process.
Many commercially produced stitch markers use jump rings made from wire that is too thin and quickly becomes misshapen; I make my stitch markers from 1mm wire that maintains its shape in use. Many stitch markers are not soldered closed, so that the yarn is easily snagged; my stitch markers are soldered so that there is no gap in the ring to snag your yarn.
This is a unique semi-precious stitch-marker set, ideal as a gift for a knitter or crocheter.
